Who's a pretty boy?

Look at this beautiful cockatoo I have been babysitting. He's about to go into the shop, but I'm going to miss him like the deserts miss the rain (to quote Ace of Base). He's not only gorgeous but so darn versatile, you can read by him, look at him and sit next to him as I have been doing for the past 24 hours. He looks great during the day....
and at night...
If you're interested in him (shameless advertising I know), click here.
In other news, I'm concerned Peaches may grow up to join the army. This is how I found her bed this morning when I got up.
She's five you know, and I could bounce a coin on this thing.
Hands up if you voted for Campbell Newman? Hmm, I thought so, no one seems to be owning up to that.
Talk about civil unrest. It's interesting times.

  1. Billy Bragg is coming to town in October. I'm sure he will have something to say at his concert ... he did last time he was here & there were some strikes of some sort going on. Power to the Union! ;-)

  2. Blogger is doing some very odd things. I'm getting comments in my email box which aren't appearing here. Thank you to the person who pointed out the Era blog is not working. We've fixed the problem and it should be back on air in the next couple of days. Cocky will be in the shop from lunch time today (Friday). Cheerio

  4. I've just got to say I love the new store. I tried to comment from the bus with my phone but it doesn't appear to like the word verification requirement.

Is it glamourpuss Liz who you've teamed up with? The Liz who kindly took an armful of 'birds' teacups and saucers from me when we were moving? If so, I dig her. You both have superlative taste and will do smashingly.

    1. Yes MMMC, it is that very same Elizabeth who got your teacups.

  5. The store is fabulous. I loved it all - bought the cane lounger/daybed and would have bought more if fiscal responsibility had not prevailed. Dull but sensible of me I know. Good luck with this new venture. Incidentally I may be showing my age or my UK origins but I associate that lyric of deserts missing the rain with Everything But The Girl ?

    1. Fiona you're right, it is Everything But The Girl. I was wondering who bought the daybed. I had a decorator taking photos of it, and it was about to be sent north to a new resort somewhere when one of the WAC staff came and put the sold sticker on it. I was told you liked it because you can fit you, your husband and your dog on it, which may be quite a load on an 80 year old day bed? I hope you love it. It was hard to part with. Even the cane man at 'And Woven Cane' had never seen one in the flesh before. Enjoy!
